Holding Court

HOLDING COURT is a portrait series of the Brooklyn community composed during the Covid 19 Pandemic. The series the notions of who is worthy of a portrait, and where a portrait should be composed. Using a local handball court as my studio and a canvas to frame each participant, the series seeks to portray a regal aspect of the person while seated inside a location typically used for sports play.
